Hospitality: Hotel developers get busy, but financing can be tricky

After years of low occupancy rates and a near-freeze on construction, developers are moving forward with plans to build new hotels across the region. This growth spurt after a long fallow period is prompted by steadily rising demand for rooms, industry experts say. “The metrics have been very strong for Seattle, coming out of a tremendous summer,” said Greg Duff, a partner in the Garvey Schubert Barer law firm and chair of the firm’s hospitality and travel group.
